"Good evening. My name is Max Mallone your host for the evening". If there is anything I can do to make the evening really come alive, by way of a little killing, don't hesitate to ask. "Is it safe? YES! This is all good clean family fun. We are not copying horror movies: there are no props or blood capsules, just fancy dress and the theatre of the mind." "See the fancy of all the folly, and then you are having fun." Now check out the plots..

THE TRUCE OF STIRLING CASTLE
It is Palm Sunday, 1304. A Council of Truce is being held at Stirling Castle. King Edward Shortlocks of England has arrived to make a truce with the Scots. With the Courts of Norway and France also in attendance it is a truly auspicious occasion. Will this truce last? Or will the clan feuds and English arrogance destroy it? And, whose side will the Irish mercenaries take?

Only available for up to 35 characters, at present.

CURSE OF THE AMULET
An Agatha Christie take-off. The ancient Egyptian amulet that is Lady Lydia's present from Sir Thomas will be on display. We hope you are not superstitious. Legend has it that the amulet is cursed. Set in a manor, with a full course meal, it is the most formal and elegant of the murder plots. Everyone comes dressed to the nines, and one of them is dressed to kill...

MAROONED AT MILFORD
The most popular plot because the dressing up is casual and easy to assemble. A truly "New Zealand" plot;the setting is one of the most famous tourist spots and provides a meeting place for locals and tourists in enforced isolation. The "local" fishermen, tour operators, friendly bar staff and government officials mix and mingle with the "strangers" - trampers from Germany and Australia, honeymooners from Japan and retired travellers from America. Now, who is the mysterious person whose passport is washed up in Milford Sound...?

SHIPWRECK
The shipwreck is a well known scenario for thrillers and mysteries. It provides another isolated setting for a set of traumatised characters to salvage their dignity and plan for survival in spite of all sorts of temptations, like treasure, fleecing their partner or having a quick affair with a stranger! Things get out of hand pretty early on... Apparently there is a vote going to be taken sometime in the evening, and the characters are canvassing their right to row to safety and to (of course!) bring back help. But why do some want to stay on the island and others seem ready to kill in order to leave...?

GOLDRUSH
The scene is the Pick & Shovel Inn. The crowd are waiting for the railroad to take them to the West to make their fortunes. Meet the railroad owners, the saloon girls, poker players, desperadoes, gold miners and the temperance group - an explosive combination!
